I looked at Vimeo, which is great, but it’s $70 per year, well, no big deal, I’ll pay and I’ll have videos that are longer than 10 minutes, video in HD, as much usage as I could want and I thought brilliant!
But vimeo dont allow gaming videos.
So someone pointed me in the direction of a new video service: own3d.tv, but this on IS for games, infact it’s ONLY for games.
The only limit they have is filesize, and thats a maximum of 2 gig, which is pretty damned big to be honest.
So I made this little video to test the service, and filesizes.
It was recorded at 7mbit, came out at 900mbytes and 15 minutes long. If I reduced the bitrate to say 6mbit, I could have as much as 45minutes of gameplay in the 2 gig limit. Now thats how video services should be, not just for Youtube Partners.

]]>As far as I can tell, Quantic Dreams own the rights to all materials, while SCEE are the publishers. Unless Viacom have VERY recently purchased quantic dream, then I can find no evidence to validify their claim.
So I’ve told youtube as much. Hopefully part 3 will become available, or I’ll be banned.
I did however find that Viacom own Game Trailers.com, and video 3 does end with a trailer for the full game.
But they can not claim copyright on materials they dont own. They just dont like getting scooped?

]]>There are some small problems but the developers do know about and they will be fixed come launch day.
For anyone who loved mario kart, this is a must buy. It’ll go platinum, no doubt about it.
So the creation:
It takes about 2-5 minutes to create a track from new, then you start to tweak it, add buildings and obsticles.
I’ve made 2 tracks so far, total build time, about 30 minutes. And trust me on this, it’s soooo easy.
But it’s also fun to build tracks, so there’s no doubt going to be enough to last a lifetime once the game is out.
so far all the video’s are still processing, so they might look a bit rough right now. They will be in HD enventually.

Drifting is the art of going sideways around corners without using the brake to slow down.
Do it right, you earn boost, get it seriously right, and you can earn tons of boost and points.
So how do you do it?
Dead easy, turn left or right, hit X to jump, and keep pressing X.

Had I known I had 30 minutes game time remaining to complete it, I’d have done it ages ago.
So I completed the single player last night, played some multiplayer, and revisited some of the earlier levels.

I also made a video from one of the multiplayer replays.
The playback is excellent, I really like the replay feature, and it’s automatic, it just records without you having to think about it.
This vide has no tweaks to it, and it still manages to look great.
This next one however, has some visual tweaks to it, focal length, apperture, and other tweaks. Now it looks nightmarish!
It really seems to add a sinister look to it:

I’ve played the single player, I’ve played the multiplayer, I’ve completed both, but while I have’nt prestiged, I have got to rank 70 and gave up.
I think there are too many cheats out there now, all hacking away at the save game. I’ve played more that a few rounds where one or two players can get 30+kills in less that 2 minutes, while the rest of their team struggles to get 5.
So I have swapped mine, I wanted rid before the cheating drove me insane.
But before I did, my nepher an I decided to do some challenges, using the “Night at the Musuem” map. We had some amazing fun too, setting up a challenge and then trying to complete it before the other one does.
So first off, we decided we’d try Shotguns Only.
It might sound easy, but not as easy as you’d think, not with the juggernaught.
Next up, after finding shotguns a fairly easy challenge, we decided to really slap down a really worthy challenge.
But, we wanted something tough and we managed to find one: Pistols only!
Throughout we decided that pistols and grenades were fine, but main weapons where what designated and HAD to stick too.
And thats it, despite the 2 video’s we had hours of fun taunting one another, eventually we ended up with knives only, and well, I deleted that video, we got hammered! I think Chris lasted the longest, but only by a few seconds.
So do something different, get some mates around and see what you can do?

Well, I’ve now played the first 5 or six levels, and it’s not getting any tougher, just more enjoyable.
Ok, so it is moderately harder, but not much.
The level design is nothing short of superb, the flow from side to side and puzzle to puzzle is amazingly smooth.
You need to be very aware of your environment, not like a first person shooter, but still aware or whats above, below and at the side.
The time to complete each one too is another brilliant facet, you need to take about 5 minutes and more to complete each stage. But it never gets dull either.
I’m pretty sure that once I do get deeper into the game, it will get harder, but for now, it’s easy but not boring.
In fact, the more I play it, the more I discover, and thats where this game differs from many others like it, it feels like a version of super mario without being a platformer.
I think it’ll have plenty of replayabilty (that must be in the OED?) because you miss things the first time around, and it’s great trying to find them the second or third time around.
The controls are also a hell of a lot easier than Gravity Crash or moonlander type games too, so you wont need to buy new joypads because you were frustrated, and it only takes a minute or two to get used to them. With 2 different weapons to use, and 2 different types of thrust too. The main weapon is like a bullet type thingumy, then the next is like rockets, just hold the fire button for the rockets. BUT not for too long, your ship overheats if you fire too many rockets, and you crash and burn.
The left joystick is for manouvering the ship, while the right points it in the direction you want to fire, but if you hold both on the direction you want to move, you move there with more thrust.
So, what do you have to do?
You have to save scientists who have created this underground world in the search for minerals and energy sources. Only trouble is, they did’nt see the dangers, and now they’re stuck. It’s upto you to get them out to safety. Or kill them. But I would’nt think that thats a good idea. I’ve killed a few accidentally, and while you can still finish the level, I assume killing them all is a bad thing.
Along the way you’ll find help in different guises, one of which is the water slug. If you pick it up and drop it on lava it unleashes a massive torrent of water and solidifies the lava and lets you pass safely. Another very usefull and re-usable tool, is the sponge. Drop it in a lake, let it collect the water, then pick it up again and carry it to where it’s needed. It will leak like a sponge too, so cooling lava as it goes. Both are replenished by a plant, so if you loose/destroy one of them, go back, and you’ll find another.
The graphics wont win awards, but they do exactly what you need them to do, differentiate different substances. Still they water does look and feel awesome.
The sound is spot on, but the background music is brilliant and a good range of different tracks too. Seeing as PJMonsters and PJEden had downloadable soundtracks, dont be surprised if this one does’nt too.
BUT it’s very very quiet, you really need to crank up the grammy (sound) to hear what I’m I mean.
So far, I’m well impressed, I’m seriously loving this game. For how long depends on the difficulty, and how much more there is to complete it. But if it’s anything like PixelJunk Monsters, then the longevity will be counted in months rather than hours or days.
For £6.29 its an absolute bargain. And deserves a VERY HIGH rating.

I have a little dilema, I have a spare unused PC.
It’s not a rocket, it will handle everything but gaming.
I have 3x spare HDD’s all unused.
1 @ 250gig 3½ inch
1 @ 500 gig 3½ inch
1 @ 100 gig 2½ inch
I have a docking station for the 2½ inch, so that could also be used.
So thats a total of 850gigabytes of space, not even being used.
But it’s Christmas, I’m not working, so do I sell the pc and raise some extra moola, then strap all the HDD’s together using external caddies and a massive amount of spare space?
Or do I installed the 2x 3½inch drives into the spare desktop and use it as a media server?

So, yesterday I took the plunge and bought a new domain and started work.

I will hopefully end up buying all the theme’s (I’m missing just one, and I need a Japanese store account for that), and showing them to you, just so you can decide on whether or not to buy it.
You can post comments without the need to register, there’s a strong spam filter, so no attempting to sell viagra or penis enlargement crap either.

Gravity Crash PS3 PSN gameplay HD Video, you know you’ll always get good quality HD gameplay video from me.
So far the game is great, it’s challenging, but not in an impossible way.
You can do as I did and clear the level completely or you can just run through the levels doing the objectives.
It does get harder, but the early missions are just training for this, and you’ll need it.
Did you like Moon Lander in the 80’s? Then I think you’ll like this.

There is at least one user on YouTube stealing other people’s work and re-uploading it as their own.One user in particular – Josnat5 who has stolen mine, Symonators and Astrozombie1 video’s.
Now I have put in a complaint about copyright infringment, and so far YouTube has done nothing to resolve the matter, maybe it’s time for a DMCA takedown notice?
One thing to note, josnat5 has created ZERO video’s, he literally steals from others and passes the video off as his own.
Another thing to note, I upload RAW unedited footage, I do this to show that I am a great gamer, and that I get my arse kicked too (occasionally)
I am now having to go through the lengthy process of watermarking all my video’s from now on.
This can mean that my laptop will sit rendering video’s for hours on end, then I still have to upload. Part of the problem is that all my Video is in HD, so it takes even longer, and they’ll have a blatant watermark too – this is not cool.
This pratt takes other people’s video, passes them off as his own, then youtube do nothing about it. Sorry for creating video’s that now look sucky.
