UFC 2009 Undisputed

Well Here we are UFC finally out. it was due for release in the UK on Firday 22/05/09 but i received my copy on Thursday.

Summary

UFC 2009 Undisputed is an explosive fighting game detailing the action, intensity and attitude of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Featuring an authentic and comprehensive UFC atmosphere, including an extensive roster of the best mixed martial arts fighters in the world, players will push the envelope with a powerful new game engine and put their best fighting disciplines to the test in the world famous Octagon.

My View
There’s alot to like about this game, I enjoy the graphic more than the actual gameplay. This game is one of those game that you can play for hours and hours without getting bored, It takes fighting games to a new level.

If You are familiar to the WWE Series then you will probably be good at this as they are not too different. There is alot of button smashing and Concentration Required.

Its A fairly Simply Game to play, but can also get considerably Difficult in a second. You could be winning the match clearly, and then it can end in defeat by one punch or kick etc. There are alot of controls and reversals to learn that it can become too much and then you forget some of the tricks and vital moves, So just be prepared to clear your head of any other game you’ve played and focus on taking in everything and i mean everything in because it will help you in the long run.

Career Mode
This mode is very entertaining and enjoyable. You start of creating your own Fighter which is similar to WWE games, you can customize everything from facial details to body hair thickness. Once you’ve Done that you start of from the bottom of the UFC and work your way right up to the hall of fame.

You have a calendar that plays a big part of career mode, you must make time for training, photoshoots, Sparring, boot camp and your main UFC fights. Training Comes in three different sections, Strength, Speed and Cardio, each time you train you will lose Stamina and you need a certain amount of stamina to participate in featured activities but make sure you rest to regain 50% stamina otherwise you will suck really bad on your fight and possibly lose. When sparring you will gain Credits depending on your performance and you can assign them to a number of abilities. Boot camp is where a professional Training instructor will teach you new moves from your fighting techniques you choose and then he will give you a number of tasks to complete (you don’t have to complete all of them), What ever tasks you complete go onto a progress bar and once that’s reached full you will unlock a more powerful move. You also Unlock trophies (not xmb trophies) and belts. The fights will get harder and harder as you progress and the more fights you lose the longer it will take to complete career.

I Give Career mode 8/10. i only gave it 8 because you dont actually get to play in the extra activities like photoshoots, Autograph signing, pre match interviews etc.

Classic mode
This in an enjoyable mode.
You have to Recreate a famous fight via the criteria. You will watch a 5min clip of the two fight trash talking each other and little clips of them training, then you will try beat your opponent in the way the task says to unlock a montage of the fight, this mode is very fun.

I rate this mode 10/10.

Online mode
I personally do not like this mode as i get very competitive and usually have to buy another controller lol. Its hard to win a match, you will notice a little bit of delay in the servers, which puts you of. You also start to forget what you learned like i said earlier. Most people online either repeat the same move over and over again, get you in a full mount which are like nearly impossible to reverse or the win by a lucky punch or kick. There are levels to progress through so you will be busy during you time playing online.
