Dark Void is a new sci-fi action-adventure game that combines an adrenaline-fuelled blend of aerial and on-foot combat set in a parallel universe called “The Void”. Players will take on the role of Will; a pilot dropped into incredible circumstances while on a routine air cargo flight crashes in the Bermuda triangle leading him to be trapped in the Void. This unlikely hero soon finds himself swept into a desperate struggle for survival at the head of a group called The Survivors. Trapped in the Void, these resistance fighters are battling to hold off a mysterious alien race that plans to threaten Earth.
Dark Void’s unique combination of in-air and on-ground combat creates a thrilling new gameplay dynamic to the third-person shooter experience. Taking 3D action to a whole new level, Dark Void’s vertical combat system allows players to dangle from thousand foot drops as they take cover and drop enemies from above and below, bringing a whole new sense of vulnerability and thrill to the player. Defying gravity in vertical combat is only half the battle as, over time, Will is upgraded to a powerful rocket pack which allows for fierce in-air combat as gamers are able to fly through the void at unparallel speeds shooting down anything that gets in their path. Blasting away at massive bosses has never been this much fun as Dark Void offers a unique grip system made up of a variety of grip-based mini-games including skyjacking UFOs mid-flight.

After playing the Multiplayer version (video’s below), and getting into the game, I thought I’d share the info’s.Multiplayer supports upto 4 players online and local. There is a problem with this apperently though as it causes the ps3 to crash, and the only way to recover is to switch off at the back and reboot.
There’s also several game different game modes, including regular zombiefest, chainsaw, blackout, and “7 days of hell”.
The last 3 need to be unlocked during gameplay, and the last is unlocked only when you reach day 55, and it’s not going to be easy. But as soon as I’ve done it, I’ll upload the video.

Complete the Final Day, in either Single or Multiplayer, and finish the game
A Week to Live
Complete 7 days in any game mode without dying

I’ve been trying for ages to find out what this music is, and thanks to one of our members – who just happens to work for a LARGE game developer, as a sound and music engineer, I know who the composer is.
It’s Brian Lebarton from the band Beck.
So, I decided to send an email and ask if it is available, unfortunately it is’nt, but it might well be soon.

Bit strong, but it could happen.
The list of bugs grows day by day, and there’s a lot of them.
They make great games, but games that are buggy as hell.
The launch week of 1943 is nothing new, lots of bugs, lots of problems, but DICE are blaming most of it on external resources beyond their control.
I doubt very much that they really are beyond their control, I strongly believe these problems are very much within their control, and are basicaly down to bugs in the code.
Packet Loss, how is this down to the data center? I’m pretty friggin sure it’s the only game that has this problem for the data center, so it’s therefore down to the game right?
They (DICE) have ties to Multiplay.co.uk and are most likely using them as server hosts. And seeing as no other official BF Game had packet loss at the weekend, it’s certainly going to be be net code.
Probably same net code as battlefield bad comapany. That still kicks players for packet loss.
Then there’s lag, lots of it. Do you see people “warp” around the maps, aircraft disappear like they are in the Bermuda Triangle? Only to reappear on the other side of the map?
This is lag, and it’s pretty bad, not so bad as it was at Christmas for BFBC, but it’s not good either.
Comms fail constantly, they work for a few minutes then stop until you quit and reload the game.
So far we have MAJOR packet loss, lag, and no working comms. If you think thats bad, there are some people who cant even play at all. Then there’s the Aussies, and New Zealanders who DONT have any local severs, they have to travel over the Pacific to play, and now THATS LAG.
There’s graphical glitches, like black boxes appearing and disappearing, aircraft targets not following enemies, images getting stuck in the middle of you view, and images hanging around that just dont belong there.
Lets not forget that you cant view your profile, and probably never will. It was supposed to take a couple of days to fix profiles, but 5 days later, yep, still broken.
Some people cant login to EA server, this means they cant even run the tutorial let alone play on a live “Battlefield”.
Then there’s the laughable team “inbalance” as I call it, wtf is going on there? 24 divided by 2, simple maths really, so why does’nt team “imbalance” work?
And dont even bother with the Private Match, that is a joke, you spend a few minutes in the lobby getting everyone together, then as soon as you join, half the people get kicked from the server, leaving you with 10vs2, and no one else can join.
In summary, this game is good, but the bugs make it by far the worst game I’ve played.
If DICE dont sort this out, people will remember and not buy the next Battlefield game, and that will sting them badly.
Personally, I no longer care that they worked hard over the weekend fixing bugs, why? Because the bugs are still there.
I dont care if DICE go under after this, all I care about is getting a game that works, this does, but you wont be playing for long, because you cant, it wont let you.

Bought this from Asda, £15 platinum. Now I did like the demo, but it took a while to get used to the car, but once I did, I easily beat the AI. Well, except for drifting.
The Game:
It’s a has to be one of the best racers I’ve ever played, close to reality, and satisfying as hell getting the car around corners.
I’ve driven several cars, the most memorable being a porche 911 GTIII, I could’nt drive it to save my life, the first lap was appaling, started in 8th, dropped to 12th in the 3rd corner. Struggled badly for the rest of the lap, with under steer, over steer, and terrible cornering. But then something magical happened, I was too fast into a corner (I thought so anyway) and it just stuck perfectly all the way around, then it hit me, the porche wants to go VERY fast around corners, suddenly I knew how to drive the car, and started pulling back positions after position, finally got a 6th finish, not bad considering the other leaders were in near F1 capable cars.
There’s various race modes,
Grip Racing: The usual type of racing around track, beating oponents, coming 1st 2nd or 3rd, earning cash, buying cars and creating your own race team, this will take a while to complete, it’s fairly big in scope and includes a 24hr Le Manns.
Drifting, (The Meat of the game) trust me, this is hard work, but damned good fun, and a fantastic payoff when you get it right.
Drift GP: Race against one other opponent and beat them to move to the next round.
Drift Battle: Street racing and drifting, with style playing a big part too, and you also need to beat them by drift score and placing 1st.
Freestyle Drift: You get 2 runs and your scores combined to beat the other drivers.
Downhill Drift: Japanese downhill track, a la “The Fast and the Furious – Tokyo Drift”. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0463985/plotsummary
Touge: Head to head racing on Japanese country lanes.
Pro Touge: Same as above, but one race up and one race down – WITHOUT TOUCHING YOUR OPPONENT.
Midnight Touge: Anything goes, open roads, collisions allowed.
Endurance: Do I need to explain that Le Mans is not about breathing?
Demolition Derby: BRING IT ON.!!!!
The Game plays brilliantly, with different types of cars that actually feel very different, not just where and when to break, but how fast you can corner, how much damage they sustain, how fast they go, and how they react to being thrown around the tracks.
Sounds is spot on without annoying background tracks getting in the way. Menu music is very Depeche Mode, but relaxing and not overbearing, again unlike other games that hit you in the face with their rock tracks.
Graphics are great, but like KZ2, they tend to blur when wiggling from side to side, this makes cornering a tad difficult at times, as the bend entrance can blur into the scenery. As for the scenery, it’s better than a lot of driving games, but wooden at low speeds. The instrumenttion is good and not all over the place, it wont interfere with your driving.
The input from a joypad is excellent and very spot on, some games can feel a bit wooly, imprecise in comparison.
The replay feature is the second best I’ve ever seen in my life, only beaten by trackmania sunrise (pc only). It has all the usual transport controls, angle and car options, and the obligatory “Cinematic” sequence, which looks amazing btw. But it does’nt have a save feature, a BIG minus. Would be nice to have bragging rights, send your replay to a mate, let him see how clever you are 
Almost forgot about “Flashback”, if you fuck up a corner/manouvre, and you will, you can press select, rewind the instant replay, and hit square to try the one again, good feature, and you are rewarded for NOT using it too.
I’m enjoying this a lot, and I can see it lasting a while to, what with so many modes, and a 12payer online, it has legs too last. Shame there are no trophies, and none have been added retrospectively either, so the whores out there might not want to play for long.
Summary:
It’s quite indepth, once you get past the first few races, and really start earning enough money to start your own team. The replay is a must for any racing game, and this is a damned good one, but you need to be able to save them (Codemasters take note).
Graphics are amazing, but let down by the blur that can hamper cornering.
Sound is spot on, and no annoying tracklist that will just end up being turned down anyway.
Control is great, no problems there at all.
Plenty to keep you busy, you wont finish this in 24hrs :secret_laugh:
Overall a great game to look at and play, with just some minor flaws, that wont have you throwing your joypad at the TV.
I score this 8 out of 10, let down by the blur and inability to save the replay.

It’s no longer a new game, but mirrors edge is a good one. Why…?
Well It’s a D.I.C.E. game, and no, this is not a DICE lovefest, it’s genuinely another great game.
Synopsis:
You play as a runner, someone who delivers secure packages by any means necessary.
The Game is based around the abilty to “Free Run” and the combo’s available are amazing, and so are the trophies required to achieve them. For the trophy whores out there, you will need to spend a fair amount of time getting the platinum for this, maybe not as much as Wipeout HD, but still, they will take time and effort.
There is only a single player element to this game, and not surprisingly, it just does’nt lend itself to a multiplayer game, although online races could be very interesting. But it’s not in, so there’s no point complaining about it.
Also missing is a map creation pack, but rumour has it that ME2 will have one, and it needs one, there’s just too much promise not too have one.
Anyway, back to the game, those with a fear of heights/vertigo/epilepsy, need not apply. The player will spend most of their time on rooftops, and even though I dont suffer with heights, the immersion works and even I feel nervous. As for epilepsy, there is a LOT of bright white colour…
These are just a selection of screenshots, and not the best, but you get the picture (pun intended), there are lots of heights and very bright whites.
You play as a character called Faith, 
and coming back after having a bad fall, you have to re-train. This is controled by another runner called Celeste.
It’s fairly easy to pick and start playing, although I did give up after playing the demo, but when I say this game being sold for £17, I thought what the hell, I’ll have to get it. It’s well worth it, I’m not sure if it was worth £40 at launch, it’s good, but not that good, I’d have put it at a £25 price point, but thats me.
Faith has a sister who is mixed up in something bad, and it’s Faiths task to find out who is involved and what the plot is.
The story takes you from VERY tall buildings to sewers and all the spaces inbetween, but as said earlier, mostly on rooftops.
There’s a slight problem though, cops and SWAT will want you stopped at every opportunity, also the “Bad People” will do their best to kill you, and you will die, a lot, not much at first, but once the game gets going, the going gets tough – Now try singing it that way around Billy Ocean 
and deaths come in two guises, falls and getting shot. Both happens a lot. But it’s the challenge that keeps you playing, it’s tough but not impossible, so it does have the continued playabity.
Some of the tricks required to finsh the game will likely have you throwing your joypad, you dont need to be fancy to finish it, but it does help, so get used to the controls.
In anycase, as you progress, you get small rewards in either the form of ingame music tracks, images, and video’s, it’s a nice little extra as there some excellent shots of early artwork, and brilliant music tracks.
As you progress, you’ll uncover the plot, loose friends, and free your sister from jail, but there are twists in the plot and it will probably surprise most players who is responsible for the whole plot.
The finishing level will keep you busy for a bit, but it’s also a great map to explore, and will likely keep you playing that last level several times as it’s great fun and a good challenge.
It’s also worth it for the closing sequence, and the promise for ME2.
The other game mode:
The other challenge, and for the trophy whores, you need to play this, it’s called simply Time Trial.
It’s a race like challenge and it’s an incredible way to learn to play the game even better, as you will learn much more in a safer environment, and you will learn how to do it quickly too.
Once you move along in the game, you unlock those maps and challenges.
One of the things you see in the intro video are Cranes, and you do get to play with them in game and in time trials too.
You will need to spend a fair bit of time completing and exploring timetrials to get that platimun, but it’s worth it, it’s a brilliant game mode, and worth the admission fee alone for just this mode.
Lastly, there’s a map pack you can download and play only in timetrials, and they look amazing, truly amazing.
Brilliant game, and one of the very few I’ve ever completed.

Ubisoft has announced that the demo for Tom Clancy’s HAWK reach PSN on 12 February.
