Gravity Crash PS3 PSN gameplay HD Video, you know you’ll always get good quality HD gameplay video from me.

So far the game is great, it’s challenging, but not in an impossible way.
You can do as I did and clear the level completely or you can just run through the levels doing the objectives.
It does get harder, but the early missions are just training for this, and you’ll need it.

Did you like Moon Lander in the 80’s? Then I think you’ll like this.

Motorstorm Arctic Edge.
It’s only available in the EU (for now anyway) and best yet…. It’s FREE!
Just goes to show that Dynamic Themes for the PS3 are a great marketing tool.
All we need now is a Dynamic theme creator.
Is anyone else looking forward to seeing the game on the PSP?

Zombie Apocalype Game Info, and trophies

After playing the Multiplayer version (video’s below), and getting into the game, I thought I’d share the info’s.
Multiplayer supports upto 4 players online and local. There is a problem with this apperently though as it causes the ps3 to crash, and the only way to recover is to switch off at the back and reboot.
There’s also several game different game modes, including regular zombiefest, chainsaw, blackout, and “7 days of hell”.
The last 3 need to be unlocked during gameplay, and the last is unlocked only when you reach day 55, and it’s not going to be easy. But as soon as I’ve done it, I’ll upload the video.
Trophies:
Anniversary of the Dead
Complete the Final Day, in either Single or Multiplayer, and finish the game

A Week to Live
Complete 7 days in any game mode without dying

Friends in Low Places
Save 25 survivors in any game mode

Hotter than Hell
Complete the final day of the “7 Days of Hell” unlockable mode

Interior Decorator
Kill 25 zombies in any game mode using environmental hazards

Can’t Touch This
Rack up a lOOx multiplier in any game mode

Environmental Awareness
Kill a zombie using an environmental hazard in any game mode

Gas Powered
Complete an entire arena, getting every kill with the Chainsaw

Gun Shop
Kill at least one zombie with each weapon type in any game mode

Wet Demo and the XMB Music

I’ve been trying for ages to find out what this music is, and thanks to one of our members – who just happens to work for a LARGE game developer, as a sound and music engineer, I know who the composer is.
It’s Brian Lebarton from the band Beck.
So, I decided to send an email and ask if it is available, unfortunately it is’nt, but it might well be soon.
So keep you’re ears and eyes open.

In the mean time, here’s good quality sample to keep you interested.

Sony charge publishers per download

Sony is now billing publishers for data transfer over PlayStation 3’s PlayStation Network, the only such fee for content holders among the major platform holders.

The policy, first reported by MTV Multiplayer and verified by Gamasutra’s own sources, was established in October 2008 and institutes a 16-cent per gigabyte fee for all downloadable PSN content.

Free content only racks up charges during its first 60 days of availability, but paid content remains metered indefinitely.

Console competitors Microsoft and Nintendo do not charge publishers for bandwidth, although both also host downloadable content on their own servers. Microsoft likely covers those costs with its Xbox Live Gold revenues, while Nintendo — which limits Wii downloadable content to much smaller sizes than either Sony or Microsoft — is content to foot the bill itself.

Major PC-based digital distribution services like Steam and Direct2Drive also do not have an equivalent bandwidth fee.

At $0.16 per gigabyte, Sony’s rates are relatively in line with low-volume content delivery rates maintained by on-demand services. Amazon’s S3, for example, has a range of $0.17 per gigabyte down to $0.10 per gigabyte, depending on total monthly volume.

Given 1.5 million PSN downloads of the Resident Evil 5 demo (which was said to have been download a total of 4 million times across Xbox Live and PSN) at 942MB — more than twice the size of its Live counterpart, oddly — Capcom would see PSN bandwidth fees of $226,080. Using Amazon’s progressive scale, that same volume of transfer would run only about $143,700. That figure would likely drop considerably more if using a high-volume commercial host.

The policy could affect the size and type of content publishers host on PlayStation Network, depending on how much it impacts the bottom line.

“It definitely makes us think about how we view the distribution of content related to our games when it is free for us to do it on the web, on Xbox Live, or any other way — including broadcast — than on Sony’s platform,” an unnamed publishing source said to MTV Multiplayer. “It’s a new thing we have to budget. It’s not cool. It sucks.”

Still, Sony claims that publishers are hosting the same level of content regardless.

“We work closely with them to bring their amazing content to our growing audience, and we are focused on ensuring we, and our publishing partners, have a viable platform for digital distribution,” said Sony spokesperson Patrick Seybold. “We foresee no change in the high quality or quantity of demos and games available on PSN.”

Publishers may rethink those practices depending on the long-term implications of the fees.

“It’s like leaving your phone off the hook for a long distance call,” said another unnamed publisher source. “The meter is still running.”

Rumours about a new firmware update to 2.70

Changes niclude:

Friends List:
• Voice Messaging is now available as an alternative to text after selecting a user on the friends list. Voice message recordings are capped at 30 seconds.
• Home Integration: Saved Playstation Home avatar photos can be selected as photo ID for Gamer Card/Friends List.
• Trophy number and Gamer Level are listed under Friend names for quick reference.

Gamer Card & Trophies:
• Gamer Card layout has been changed to more closely resemble the Playstation Store aesthetic.
• Past Trophy information can be viewed in detail by selecting “Recent Trophy History” option.
• Newly aquired trophies auto-sync in the background
• Server infrastructure for Trophies has been optimized. Resulting in faster retrieval time for Gamer Card and Trophy information.

In-Game XMB:
• Loading time for In-Game XMB has been drastically reduced, resulting in a more seemless in-game experience.
• “Theme settings” options while in-game is now available, allowing custom themes to be applied to the In-Game XMB.
• Internet Browser can now be accessed while in-game.
• Voice messaging and voice chat options can be used while in-game.
• Options that cannot be used in the XMB during game sessions are grayed out (but still selectable) to eliminate user accessibility confusion.

Misc:
• Other slight UI tweaks and enhancements.

Seems like there is still no word on cross-game invites, but I think the integration of Home (as small as it is) into the rest of the Playstation experience is still a step in the right direction. The update is pretty big but he said it would hit sometime in Q2 of ‘09.

H.A.W.X. Demo on PSN – 12 February

Ubisoft has announced that the demo for Tom Clancy’s HAWK reach PSN on 12 February.

In the demo players will fight in the skies of Rio de Janeiro against planes, tanks and amphibious means, in addition to having the opportunity to fly with other pilots in a cooperative manner within a scenario simply spectacular.
